I personally have stayed in the timeshare before. It is on the Carribean coast, a day's drive from
Medellin, or about 130 miles South of Cartagena.
The condo has two air conditioned private rooms that sleep two people
each on the lower floor. Upstairs is a sleeping loft for four more
people, which can get pretty hot, so bring an electric fan. There is
also a large swimming pool, including a bar with underwater stools, and
a restaurant.
You can
shop for groceries in nearby Tolu, bring your own, or buy fresh
caught shrimp and fish from the fishermen that you meet on the beach, and hire a maid to do
the cooking and cleaning. The management can get a maid for you. Last
time, the maid was paid 20,000 Pesos a day (about USD $9.00), and she
was a great cook. There is
also a restaurant on premises, but it is much better to do your own
cooking. There
is a tiny
grocery/liquor store right on the beach right outside the gate, and a
few
non-pushy vendors selling ice cream, sodas, and so on.
The
ocean in this area is so warm that when you walk in to the
water, you will barely notice that you are getting
wet.
